CBD might not be the first thing you think of when you think of giving a gift to someone you love but it might be the perfect gift. There is a large majority of the population that has yet to try CBD nor know really much about it. Last Christmas season we noticed a big increase in specific items such as CBD Topicals and CBD bath bombs. When you think about it they are actually the perfect gift to give that wow and excitement factor to when considering your next gift to someone you love.

Let’s not beat around the bush, as you get older you just have those aches and pains that happen. Does someone you know may be the perfect fit for getting some CBD as a gift? In the last few years, I started giving my grandmother of 85 years old topical rubs, lotions, and balms and I got to admit she loves it. I would much prefer she uses something organically made overtaking prescription drugs or over-the-counter medications. From that point forward I have always made a point to start giving out CBD items to people I care about who might have never experience or tried CBD in the first place.

There is still a stigma about CBD

There is certainly still a stigma about CBD. CBD obviously is derived from the cannabis plant (marijuana or hemp) and I believe that many people still believe that anything that comes from those two plants could potentially give you intoxicating effects. Those people are just simply not educated about the real facts of what CBD is and how exactly CBD is different from its cousin THC. THC is the main cannabinoid that we all know about and that’s the cannabinoid that gives you the intoxicating effects. CBD on the other hand in its purest form (CBD Isolate) does not give any intoxicating effects. While it’s similar to THC, it does not affect your body the same way as THC does. If those people are not educated about the differences between the two they will go on continuing to think that they are related and they both give intoxicating effects. I think where it gets even more confusing is when you have a full spectrum CBD product that contains a high level of THC which again if it’s over a certain % of THC then it certainly has the ability to give intoxicating effects. Here at Chilliwack CBD, we ensure our customers that none of our products are over that percentage of THC which means none of our products can give an intoxicating effect. We built this website for people specifically interested in CBD and the potential benefits it may give without the intoxicating effects of THC.

What type of events or holidays are good to give CBD?

I think Christmas is the main holiday that people are searching out unique and interesting gifts. The past two Christmas seasons we see a real influx of orders which are typically topical or bath-related. I think that’s a great idea because it’s a great way to introduce someone to CBD through topical CBD products. Even if there was 100% THC in the product there is no way for THC to pass the blood-brain barrier through the epidermis which means there is no way to get intoxicating through a topical product, that’s simply a fact.

Birthdays are always a great way to give the gift of CBD. If you have someone who has had everything or maybe someone a little older who is going through the aches and pains of life then CBD might be a great option for them. Starting out with something like a CBD Bath Bomb or CBD Topical Product or CBD Balm is a great way to introduce them to the benefits of the cannabis plant.

Baby showers are something new that we have been seeing people buying for as a gift. When you think of a baby shower it’s all about the mother and giving her some gifts for the baby or some relaxation products for the many stresses over the following weeks or months.

Valentine’s day might be something you have not thought about previously but it makes sense. We have sensual products such as our Intimate oil infused with CBD which makes for a great night. The other option is our CBD Bath Bombs or CBD Bath Salts which give you both a relaxing evening together.

Wedding Anniversaries are another day to celebrate each other and what’s better than giving the gift of health. Your partner (male or female) might benefit greatly from a product infused with CBD and it might just be something they would have never purchased on their own.

Now that I’ve given you a few suggestions over the year in which CBD would make a great gift, that does not mean that a gift spontaneously given throughout the year is not also a great option. If you have never read the book “The 5 Love Languages” then you should certainly give it a read. The book is about how people give love based on what they feel love is. I won’t spoil the book but it goes on to say everyone has certainly love languages and those languages are words of affirmation, quality time, physical touch, acts of service, and the one we want to focus on is receiving gifts. Yes, you heard me right. There are certain people that show love and feel loved when giving gifts or receiving gifts. If you have never read this book before then I highly suggest you look into it. Do you know someone in your life that constantly gives gifts throughout the year for no specific reason?. It does not even have to be a substantial gift in order for them to feel loved or give love, it could be as simple as seeing something they know the person would like and buying it for them. That would be the ideal person in your life that would be someone to give the gift of CBD.

Giving a gift activates your reward system in your brain

Have you ever noticed that when you give gifts it just feels good? The researchers at Harvard Business School and the University of British Columbia found that individuals who gave gifts and also received gifts (in this case money) had greater happiness appeared in those subjects that actually gave the money.

Researchers at the National Institutes of Health, along with other colleagues around the world, measured brain activity in people who gave gifts and received. In both of those cases, parts of your brain associated with reward were activated (similar to how someone smokes cigarettes and the nicotine actives the reward center). These areas of the brain usually fueled by dopamine, tend to reinforce behavior. When the rewards center is activated in the brain, we tend to try to get them to stay active. These findings suggest that our brain enjoys both receiving a gift and giving a gift.

I love TedTalks and here is a great talk about “How to Give a Good Gift”
